Interview process

Each shortlisted applicant (and your spouse/family as appropriate) will be invited to come to spend a weekend with us in Bradford to look around the area and the manse and be interviewed by some of the recruitment team (Saturday) and lead our Sunday morning worship and meet the church congregation (Sunday).  We will also give you an opportunity to explore the area on your own. We will provide accommodation for you to stay over the weekend, (although, please do feel free to make your own arrangements if you prefer), and Sunday lunch will be provided by a couple from the congregation.

We would look to notify the preferred candidate as soon as possible after all applicants have been seen and discuss the next steps regarding their potential appointment. 

CHURCH PASTOR – summary of post

Working Hours

• Full time, with flexible hours to fulfil the requirements of the job. 

• You will be expected and encouraged to take at least one full day off each week, and to maintain healthy boundaries in terms of ministry and personal life.

• You will generally be expected to use the Church and Community Centre as the focal point of your work.

Contract

• An initial three year contract (subject to completion of a successful 6 month probationary period), which will then be renewable with the agreement of both parties.

Remuneration

• Your stipend will be c£21k per annum, and you will be enrolled into a government approved pension scheme

• You will be provided with a house to support the better performance of your duties, including the ability to be readily available to meet the needs of members of the congregation. In addition, council tax will be paid for you. The value of this is estimated to be over £10k.

Holidays

• You will be entitled to 25 days holiday with pay per annum (plus statutory public holidays other than religious holidays when it is likely that you will be involved in worship services at the Church).
